The Hireman is celebrating two significant milestones - the opening of a brand new depot in Rochester, Kent, and the expansion of its powered access fleet.

These latest developments are part of the company's mission to provide a comprehensive tool hire service for its customers. The new Kent depot will support its existing operation, and will acts as a regional hub for its expanding range of powered access, plant and machinery. The new site will also becomes its central workshop for all major repairs.

“Some of our best people live in and around Kent, and when you add great transport links and the availability of warehousing with yard space, it made sense for us to have a base here and create a hub for powered access and our main workshop. So, this expansion is about improving our efficiency, quality and service, just as much as it’s about reaching new customers in Kent and East Sussex," explained Managing Director Neil Graham. "Next year, we’ll be celebrating our 40th anniversary and I think this longevity is because we’ve always kept our customers and our people at the heart of everything we do.”

The new Kent depot will be a dedicated hub for the company's new range of powered access equipment from Snorkel, including the S3013 mini and S2755RTE rough terrain scissor lift. It will support The Hireman's network of depots by distributing larger access equipment throughout London, the Home Counties and beyond.

The new depot has also been a project particularly close to the heart of Head of Procurement & Facilities Alex Milne, who added: "Not all hire companies are the same in terms of service and quality, which is where we stand out. So, I’m confident that we’ll be a huge success with existing and new clients alike in Kent. Not just that, but this depot is a powered access hub for us, complementing our Xtra division, which has shown us how important these products are to our customers.”
