Sunbelt Rentals’ annual golf day has raised over £36,000 for three deserving charities.
Hosted at the lavish JCB Golf and Country Club, the event brought together customers, suppliers and colleagues for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. The three charities benefitting from the event are Green Corridor, APEX Scotland and the Midlands Air Ambulance, each receiving £12,000 to help transform the lives of people in their local communities.
Green Corridor helps young people with special educational needs and learning disabilities. They are planning to use the money to redesign and fit out a classroom to resemble a commercial kitchen, which will ease anxiety in learners as they transition into employment.
APEX Scotland contributes to a safer Scotland by supporting people with criminal convictions or at risk of committing offences to give them the skills to change their behaviour and lead fulfilling lives. The money will be used to support its Apex Foundation Programme in Edinburgh, which is focussed on barrier removal and supporting people through 1:2:1 mentoring and group work.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates three air ambulance helicopters and a fleet of critical care cars serving the communities in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire. Each air ambulance mission costs an average of £2,950 and the critical car care costs around £288 per call out, which means the £12,000 donation could save the lives of more than ten people.
“I want to extend my appreciation to our colleagues, customers and suppliers for their generosity at this year’s event,"said Sunbelt UK CEO Phil Parker. "Together, we've raised an impressive £36,000, which will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and communities across the country.”
