Yanmar has announced the launch of two new zero tail swing excavators - the reimagined ViO38-7 and ViO33-7.

The new units are designed to perform in a wide variety of applications, including civil engineering, landscaping, construction and municipal work. Replacing the existing ViO38-6 and ViO33-6, the new models are ideal for projects where space is tight but performance and operator comfort remain paramount.

The ViO38-7 and ViO33-7 offer several upgrades over their predecessors. The ViO38-7, with an operating weight of 3,585kg, has a digging force of 32.8kN at 2,200rpm. The l3,265 kg ViO33-7 offers 30.69kN of digging force, while both machines also benefit from hydraulic system improvements and an 18.5kW Yanmar engine providing a 7% improvement in excavation efficiency compared to previous counterparts.

The boom swing angle has been improved to the left side of the machine, resulting in a reduction of 115mm compared to previous models. Additional changes to the lower body position and bucket shape enhance clearing ability during forward excavation, making these models adaptable to different job site conditions.

Both models are easily ransportable, with weights of 3,210kg (cabin) and 3,090kg (canopy) for the ViO33-7, and 3,530kg (cabin) and 3,405 kg (canopy) for the ViO38-7. The latest updates also allow the excavators to travel faster on slopes -  the ViO33-7 has a maximum speed of 4.8kph and a 25% improvement in speed under load.

The ergonomically redesigned cabins provide a more spacious and quieter environment, boosting safety and comfort during long working hours. A new 4.3-inch colour display adds a modern touch, while key updates such as optimised air conditioning vents and accessible storage options further refine the operator experience.

Best of all, Yanmar will be exhibiting at the 2025 Exective Hire Show. Meet the team on Stand I42 on the front row of the arena.
