Jarvie Plant, is helping contractors reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on capability, by introducing the first fully electric rotating telehandler to customers across Scotland.

With Scotland’s target of becoming net-zero by 2045 now firmly on the horizon, Jarvie Plant has a vision to deliver sustainable plant hire, and is heavily investing in delivering innovative solutions for customers who need to meet their ESG goals.

Jarvie Plant is one of only two hirers in the UK to offer the Manitou MRT 2660E electric rotating telehandler, which is ideal for use in indoor environments, urban and quieter construction sites.

The Manitou MRT 2660E has quickly generated interest from contractors who need to reduce their carbon footprint, being capable of a full charge in just over two hours and with a run time of up to eight. The inclusion of a hybrid system means that if battery power runs low, the machine can seamlessly switch to diesel or another backup power source, preventing downtime and maintaining productivity.

“The team here at Jarvie Plant are always looking for innovative solutions to support our customers. The construction industry is increasingly focused on reducing its carbon footprint, so companies are looking for sustainable plant hire to support their goals," said Sales and Operations Director Gary Johnstone.

"We’re delighted to be offering the only 100% electric rotating telehandler currently available in Scotland, and we are already seeing a lot of interest from environmentally-responsible businesses. We’re proud to be supporting customers on their journey towards net zero, and there will be more to come from our team to help companies meet their ESG goals.”
