JCB has annouced ambitious new recruitment plans, in the hunt for hundreds more shop floor employees. It will also give hundreds more agency workers permanent contracts, as the demand for construction equipment continues to increase.

It is fair to say that it has been 'all go' at JCB lately, the company only recently revealing it was hiring more than 400 UK shop floor agency workers and giving permanent contracts from April 1st to more than 300 existing agency employees.

Today JCB has announced it is recruiting a further 450 agency shop floor employees for its factories in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wrexham. Later this year it will give an additional 400 agency shop floor employees with more than one year’s service permanent JCB contracts. These will include assemblers, welders, fabricators and CNC machinists.

Summarising the recent moves, and the sense of better times returning, JCB Chief Operating Officer Mark Turner said: “The rebound following the Covid-19 pandemic continues to gather pace and even in the space of a month since we started recruiting, we now need a further 450 shop floor employees.  The creation of a total of 850 jobs this year is very good news for our business and for the areas where we operate. It’s also great news that this year we will give permanent JCB contracts to more than 700 agency employees, starting this month.”
