As well as a substantial footprint in the hire sector, Indespension works with utility providers in the UK, Ireland and Europe on special infrastructure projects. The company is thus well-versed in manufacturing trailers to meet specific customer specifications and industry regulations.
When approached by a major UK utility supplier asking to provide specific trailer solutions for transporting 1.5 and 2-tonne excavators with minimal operator load handling, Indespension's engineering team immediately got to work.
The solution was a twin-axle plant trailer with lightweight aluminium low-loading ramps and a clever drive-in track mechanism that enables excavator tracks to be fixed securely into position without requiring tools or straps.
The new trailers were also fitted with various standard features, including LED lighting, cast heavy-duty coupling, sealed-for-life bearings and 'SuperRide' suspension. The successful outcome secured an order for 100 trailers scheduled for delivery to utility projects across the Southeast.
