Narrowly missing the deadline for the June edition, we thought the HAE column was important enough to use it online right away. In it, CEO Paul Gaze calls for new HAE EHA Board members. Over to you, Paul:
Think you can make a difference to the Hire industry? Want to get involved and help the Association meet members’ needs? Then don’t keep your ideas to yourself. Put your name forward for election to the HAE Plant, Tools and Equipment Board.
Board member elections are taking place in July for the five vacancies in 2022. The normal term for an elected board member is two years. Each industry board elects a Chairperson and Vice-Chair from among the elected members and nominates a representative for the main company board.
Those elected can then have their say on matters including increasing member engagement, developing training, assisting recruitment, expansion of services and benefits, sector development and improving industry standards, as well as get involved with other committees or working groups.
HAE EHA members will be able to vote for candidates from their industry sector of the Association at the AGM at HQ on Wednesday July 27th at 4pm. Postal votes and proxy votes will also be counted.
So, what’s your commitment if elected? The HAE Tools, Plant and Equipment Board meets four times each year at HAE EHA offices in Solihull, West Midlands. In addition to these and some other meetings, attendance at the AGM is also expected.
Candidates have until Monday 20th June to register their interest in becoming a board member. Voting begins on Friday 24th June when a list of the candidates will be published online. Email voting closes on Tuesday 26th July with the results announced at the AGM the next day.
