Silverstone-based Ace Plant Ltd has announced the acquisition of the hire division and brand title of Electric Wheels. The move strengthens Ace Plant’s prominence in electric utility vehicle hire.

The acquisition of Electric Wheels brings the UK’s largest fleet of UTVs and golf buggies under Ace Plant’s management. Operating on a national basis, the expanded fleet caters to a diverse range of sectors including construction, agriculture, public services, events and corporate days, as well as long-term hire contracts.

Electric Wheels specialises in the sale, hire, and distribution of all-electric utility vehicles, serving sectors such as agriculture, construction, facilities management, equestrian, events and film.

“This is a divisional purchase. We have acquired the hire division and brand title of Electric Wheels. Why? To expand our electric offering. Electric Wheels are stepping away from the hire market, and we’re stepping in. This is part of our strategy to grow our market share. And we have the ambition to acquire a larger portion of that market,” explained Ace Plant Managing Director George Wheeler.
