Yanmar has expanded its mini excavator line-up, with three new machines aimed squarely at compact construction, landscaping, utilities and the rental market.
The new arrivals are the ultra-compact SV10, short tail swing SV26-7 and zero tail swing ViO27-7, extending Yanmar’s offering across the 0–3 tonne segment.
Smallest of the trio is the SV10, designed for jobs where access is particularly restricted. At just 740mm wide, extending to 990 mm for additional stability, the machine combines a small swing radius with a 60° boom swing, allowing it to pass through standard doorways and tackle confined indoor and urban applications.
Power comes from Yanmar’s 3TNV70 engine, producing 9.2 kW net, while digging forces are quoted at 5.5kN at the arm and 7.6kN at the bucket. Maximum digging depth is 1,760 mm, while the SV10 has an operating weight of 1,185kg and transport weight of 1060kg.
Yanmar has also paid attention to durability and everyday usability. Key hydraulic components are protected within the boom area, while adjustable side levers, a blade-locking function, a new air filter and easier access to service points should help operators and hire companies keep downtime to a minimum.
Moving up the range, the SV26-7 and ViO27-7 target the competitive 2–3 tonne sector. The ViO27-7 uses Yanmar’s zero tail swing design and has a 750mm rear turning radius. The short tail swing SV26-7 has a 1165mm rear turning radius, increasing to 1,240 mm with counterweight. Machine widths are 1,500mm for the SV26-7 and 1550mm for the ViO27-7.
Both are powered by Yanmar’s 3TNV80F engine, developing 17.7 kW net power – 18.4 kW gross at 2,400 rpm. Digging forces reach 21.4 kN at the bucket and 16.5 kN at the arm, with maximum digging depth of up to 3,025 mm. Boom movement extends to 75° left and 60° right, with Yanmar’s ViPPS hydraulic system supporting smooth simultaneous operation.
Operator improvements on the two larger machines include a new information display, wider cab entry and improved all-round visibility.
Together, the SV10, SV26-7 and ViO27-7 give Yanmar a broader compact excavator offering, ranging from a machine capable of negotiating standard doorways to two larger models designed to combine compact dimensions with digging performance and stability.
