Scot JCB has announced the launch of its 2026 apprenticeship recruitment programme.
This year, apprenticeship vacancies are available in Alnwick, Carlisle, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Forfar, Kelso and Newcastle. Successful candidates will join one of the most established engineering apprenticeship schemes in the industry, working daily with advanced machinery across both construction and agriculture.

Many of our most experienced engineers started as apprentices, and we are proud to continue that legacy."
Apprentices will work alongside expert engineers, supporting the servicing and repair of a wide range of machinery. The programme combines on-the-job learning, with college-based study creating a strong foundation in engineering principles and hands-on technical skills. Apprentices will also train at Scot JCB’s training facility in Glasgow, combined with going to college to gain nationally recognised NVQ or SVQ qualifications in Plant Maintenance or Land-Based Service Engineering.
Additional training opportunities include forklift certification, first aid training and manufacturer-based courses at JCB’s global facilities, ensuring every apprentice develops a comprehensive skill set.
