Premier Diamond Products has attained 30 years in the business, marking the milestone with a move to larger, custom-designed premises.
Founded in 1990, the company quickly outgrew its original HQ, most recently operating from three separate locations. With the Herne Bay-based outfit doubling its turnover in five years, the 500-yard dash between buildings must also have put considerable pressure on order fulfilment. Nevertheless, the company was able to offer same-day despatch for orders made before 4pm.
The move to a single site effectively quadruples PDP’s pallet locations, picking store and dispatch areas, allowing the company to hold larger stocks of existing products and introduce several new product ranges, as well as streamlining the same-day dispatch service.
The news dosn't end there, though, as in June PDP will launch a new range of bonded abrasive products, such as metal cutting and grinding discs and zirconium and ceramic flap discs. These will complement the range of inox cutting discs and coated abrasive products. The 'Site Tuff' trade range will also grow from September onwards, with many new products including additional diamond blade specifications, dry diamond cores and accessories, SDS plus and max products and reciprocating saw blades.
“In many ways, it seems remarkable that we are able to begin 2021 like this, but I think it is testament to 30 years of hard work by all our team," says Steve Webb, operations director. "We also recognise how fortunate we are to be operating in an industry which has been able to keep working when companies in so many other sectors have struggled or even been forced to close. We’re delighted to be able to expand our product range in order to offer more to our loyal customers.”
