Nixon Hire has invested in a fleet of emission and noise-free lighting towers, acquiring 30 ST-9 hybrid units from the MHM Group.

The ST-9 is a solar/battery, diesel-free, site lighting tower that operates from a combination of an AGM sealed lead acid self-charging battery, and four LG360 solar panels. Illumination is courtesy of a bank of energy-saving LED lamps delivering 2,400m2 of light coverage. The ST-9 is equipped with a ‘Dusk ‘til Dawn' auto start/stop sensor’, ensuring that light is only provided when it's needed. The unit is silent in operation, making it well suited for use in noise sensitive areas.

Commenting on the investment in sustainable equipment, Nick Hibbard, UK division manager (renewables) at Nixon Hire said: “The ST-9 is the latest sustainable product to be added to our hire fleet. With our drive towards championing zero emission equipment, this lighting set will complement all of our current battery, hybrid and solar powered machinery.”
