Nixon Hire Business Development Manager, Colin Dixon, is stepping away from the company. With and extensive hire career and six decades on the clock, he feels it's now time to take it easy and enjoy the finer things in life...
"At the ripe old age of 60 I feel another chapter is beginning to enjoy to the full the simple pleasures in life with my gorgeous wife and family," he begins.
"As a young lad (green around the gills) at 16 I fell into the fast paced & quite addictive hire industry. Starting for the legend and truly amazing gentleman John Nixon for a period of six years, then moved on to what was the Manchester-based National toolhire network M&H Plant, which in time evolved into the giant HEWDEN, where I enjoyed 14 years cutting my teeth in sales and met some fantastic guys Nationally along the way at both the Hire centres and Plant depots," he adds.
"In April 2007 the call came in from the NE legend and very sadly missed Mr Kevin Blackwood, with an opportunity to return to the massively expanded Nixon Hire family, where I have enjoyed almost 20 very memorable years in sales.
"I would like to send a huge thanks out to all the fantastic customers / people who I have met over the 33 years on the road for Hewden Hire and John Nixon (Nixon Hire). Your valuable time given to myself and the levels of business we received will never be forgotten as without you we are simply nothing!"
