Niftylift is preparing a trio of debuts for Vertikal Days 2026, with new hydrogen-electric and diesel-electric models - to be joined by a new compact boom that, for now, remains under wraps.

Leading the charge is the HR21 H2E, which combines Niftylift’s HR21E with its hydrogen-electric power option. The result brings fuel cell technology to the manufacturer’s 20.8m all-electric platform.

The HR21E itself remains unchanged. Instead, the fuel cell recharges the machine’s batteries on board. A single charge delivers more than two days of work, while the addition of hydrogen doubles that. The G20 hydrogen bottle can also be swapped without any equipment, allowing the batteries to be recharged repeatedly as the job demands.

Niftylift’s second debut takes its diesel-electric tech into a larger size class for the first time. The HR22SE, equipped with the diesel-electric power option and designated HR22SDE, retains the key specifications of the standard machine.

The diesel-electric system is optimised to recharge the batteries rather than drive the machine directly. This means Niftylift can employ a smaller, quieter and more efficient engine than would be required by a diesel-only or hybrid alternative.

There’s another potentially useful angle for existing fleet owners, too - hydrogen-electric can be retrofitted to all HR15Es, HR17Es and HR21Es, while diesel-electric can be retrofitted to the HR22SE.

Lastly, Niftylift describes its new model as an all-new compact self-propelled boom, featuring both a new chassis and new boom design. The machine is apparently light for its class and has been developed with sensitive surfaces and confined working areas in mind.

“Innovation is only half of what our customers need from us. The other half is making sure the machines already in their fleets keep pace with what the market demands, and that is what these new power options do," explained Niftylift Managing DirectorJohn Keely. "Our focus is on giving customers machines that deliver a good return on investment today and are future-proofed against the evolving needs of the market.”
