Compact machinery certainly has its place, but sometimes a bit more power is required to get the job done. Enter Komatsu, with its new PC88MR-11 midi excavator.

The new 8.5 - 8.75 tonne machine offers a host of benefits, including low fuel consumption and a powerful 50.7 kW/68hp Stage V engine. While a short 325mm tail swing means that operators can concentrate on the work at hand without the worry of rearswing impacts.

A sleek external design gives way to a user comforts and intuitive ergonomics inside the cab. Operators will find improvements elsewhere too, with a redesigned blade for better dozing, a repositioned low/high gear switch and an automatic change-over valve.

“This is not just a simple model update. The PC88MR-11 introduces several improvements in digging performances and structure. The whole dig-loading cycle is improved, increasing production, giving the feeling of a faster machine. Last but not least, this latest Komatsu midi excavator features the European debut of the brand new EU Stage V Komatsu 2.4 litre engine with KDPF (Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter)," says Simone Reddi, Komatsu Europe product manager for midi excavators.
