Engineers, contractors, programme managers, and designers across the UK and Ireland can now configure, and build their own Cat genset using nothing more than a mobile device with a 4G connection.

Power.cat.com has now launched to UK and Ireland customers, and its development has been driven by extensive customer research. In the feedback, buyers said it was important to have a real-time view of which power products were available, as well as having the option to choose and optimise the right size generator in line with their needs.  

The new site, which replaces easypower.cat.com, also enables visitors to configure a generator set, save their work and automatically request a price for their build. Speaking of the new service, Finning Electric Power Retail Manager, Leigh Hawkins, said: “The initial feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive and confirmed that the new power.cat.com website provides the easiest generator sizing tools on the market.

“Customers asked for a function that enables them to browse product availability and self-source information easily without having to create an account and provide their personal details. We’ve implemented these changes so the site is simple to navigate, and information is readily available, vastly improving the overall customer experience."

Features on the new website include:

  • Size a Generator:
    Size a generator set in three simple steps: define your load types, enter the output rating per load then choose the generator set that meets your needs. You can save your sizing activity and return to edit your work later.
     
  • Configure a Generator:
    This live configurator enables you to select a generator set model then choose the configuration build-up of the product. You can view and select your preferred enclosure, tank, generator and can add extra components such as telematics, enclosure lighting and more.
     
  • View local generator set stock:
    This gives access to the inventory component of the site showing Finning’s local available stock. You can view product specifications, technical documentation, and prices, and can place a reservation on the generator set of your choice.
     
  • Access the installation room tools: 
    This is a suite of digital calculators to assist customers in planning their generator set installation.

All customers have 24-hour access to the new site without having to provide login details or personal information. They can browse the products at a time that suits them and get detailed technical information and photos to help them decide which generator set best matches their project needs.
