'MudMixer' has launched in the UK and is targeting the hire sector as a key route for introducing its continuous mixing system to builders, landscapers, groundworkers and maintenance contractors.
The new machine is designed for suitable pre-blended bagged concrete, mortar and related materials, offering a continuous mixing process for smaller pours and repetitive site work.
MudMixer UK believes that hire can remove one of the main barriers facing any unfamiliar piece of site equipment: contractors can use the machine on a specific job before deciding whether regular ownership is justified.
Early target applications include fencing, kerbs and edgings, small slabs, garden-room bases, drainage, repairs and restricted-access work.
The machine is intended to sit alongside - rather than replace - larger concrete supply methods, giving hire customers an option for jobs where delivered concrete is impractical and repeated conventional mixing can be labour-intensive.
“Hire could be hugely important to the UK launch because this is a product people understand very quickly once they use it," said MudMixer Sales Manager, Louise Hudson. "A contractor may hesitate to buy an unfamiliar machine, but hiring one for a fencing job, a small slab or a restricted-access project lets the product prove itself.”
The UK business is developing launch incentives for selected early adopters, including hire companies willing to trial the machine and provide utilisation and customer feedback.
“We do not want to ask hire companies to take a machine on faith," continued Louise. "We want to build the commercial case with them - who hires it, what job they use it for, whether they come back, and what support helps the product earn its place in a fleet.”
Sounds like a great idea - particularly for hirers with domestic and DIY customers.
