JLG will unveil a new articulated electric boom lift at Bauma - the EC450AJ Compact.
The EC450AJ Compact is equipped with 10kWh lithium ion-phosphate (LFP) batteries as standard, with an option to extend to 20kWh for extended run time. The batteries are tested to last the machine’s lifetime and have full warranty support, resulting in a reduced total cost of ownership. Recharging is quick and easy using the standard 230VAC 1-phase on-board battery charger and optional 400VAC 3-phase charger. When both charger options are fitted, charging times are further reduced. The lithium batteries are also equipped with integrated heaters to enable charging and efficient operation in sub-zero temperatures.
As the alphanumeric name suggests, the EC450AJ Compact is just 2m wide with true zero tail swing, providing excellent manoeuvrability on site and allowing operation in confined spaces. As one of the lightest models in its class, two units can fit on a low-bed trailer.
To support visibility in low-light conditions, the EC450AJ has an optional lighting system that illuminates the floor around the machine and includes an illuminated platform control panel.
The new boom lift also has a 4WD AC electric drive system and it can operate on slopes up to 45% for site transportation, or 5° when elevated. Additional features include 355° turntable rotation, non-marking/non-directional rough terrain foam-filled tires as standard, and a new three-entry platform with a 250kg capacity.
