JCB has launched an electric version of the HTD-5 Dumpster tracked carrier, further expanding its range of fully electric E-TECH models.
The new HTD-5E Dumpster is highly suitable for sites requiring low noise and zero exhaust emissions. The new machine also comes with an optional ride-on SmartStep for additonal versatility and operator comfort. This feature isolates power to the tracks if the operator steps off the equipment while it is still moving, yet it still allows power to the skip and hydraulics. When the SmartStep is folded up, all hydraulics are enabled and the operator can walk behind.
Other features include a 9kW electric motor delivering speeds of up to 3km/h, a maximum two-hour charging time, a 500kg capacity and 1450mm skip ground clearance in tipping position. The new E-Dumpster is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery that can be recharged using a 240V or 110V electrical supply.
The HTD-5E now joins the 19C-1E electric mini excavator and the 30-19E teletruk industrial telescopic forklift. JCB also offers a range of electrically-powered access platforms, while JCB’s Power Products division has launched a line of electric powerpacks to provide recharging facilities for electric machinery in off-grid applications.
