The Executive Hire Show Networking Party was a resounding success - not least due to rambunctious perfomance of our professional host - rugby and broadcasting legend David 'Flats' Flatman - but doubly so for Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire...
With 130 branches nationwide, the group probably has a decent chunk of change at its disposal. As such, they were not about to be outbid in a charity auction to win an Altrad Belle DC300E+ 82v cordless cut-off saw and spare batteries - the proceeds then going to Prostate Cancer UK.
Huws Gray eventually pipped the Prop Pal team at the post, the latter gamely elevating the price - Prop Pal Director Stephen Cheshire later admitting that he'd intended to win device in order to give it to fellow MD Anthony Ashworh-Jones. He's nice like that!
Either way, the Huws Gray team won out with a bid of precisely £2000 - approximately twice the RRP for the full kit, but a generous donation to a very worthy cause. Here's Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire MD Adrian Watts receiving his booty from Altrad Belle Regional Manager Danny Pinder.
All such excitement aside, the show itself was another one for the ages - visitor numbers on a par with previous record-breaking years, 30 percent brand-new exhibitors and strong business reported across both days.
Next year is the twentieth anniversary of the biggest and best event in the UK plant & tool hire sector. We're already formulating our plans for this momentous occasion, so stay tuned to the EHN and EHS websites for further information.
