Hubbway Hire, as profiled in the October 2020 edition - and certainly the only hire company your author has visited with its own tower crane in the yard - has just inked a major deal with lighting specialists, Trime.

The Newcastle-based firm invested in forty X-ECO HYBRID LITHIUM lighting towers, manufactured in Italy and supplied by Trime UK.

The Trime X-ECO HYBRID LITHIUM is an LED lighting tower powered by a combination of a lithium battery and a fuel-efficient diesel engine. It can be fully recharged in under two hours and can run on battery power alone for 80% of its operation, thus producing no noise and zero carbon emissions. The unit is fitted with 100watt LED lamps that deliver a light coverage of up to 3000sqm and it can operate for up to 14 hrs and 30 minutes.

Commenting on his new investment, Hubbway MD Nick Hubb said: “We did look at few other lighting towers before we decided to go for the Trime lithium powered units. However, with the keen attention paid to us by Ray Caulfield (Trime Group CEO), gave us the confidence to commit to the Trime sets. We know that our clients will appreciate the fuel savings and environmental qualities that these lights provide.

“Trime are an easy company to work with, they keep things simple and efficient," he added.

Hubbway Hire already has a number of the X-ECO HYBRID LITHIUM lights out on hire on rail and highway projects. They expect demand to increase rapidly as outside events begin to build-up, and particularly in areas where noise is an issue. The company now boasts over two hundred and fifty Trime lighting sets in their rental fleet.
