QMJ Group, the organisers of Hillhead, have taken what must have been a very difficult decision to postpone the exhibition to 21-23 June 2022.

The ongoing pandemic and associated restrictions are to blame for the move, of course.

Speaking of the delay, Event Director Richard Bradbury said: "Under these guidelines, it is clear that the show will not be able to operate legally in June this year.

Our priority is to provide the Hillhead experience that our exhibitors and visitors have come to expect but, with the continuing uncertainty around travel restrictions and social distancing measures, this is not achievable in 2021."

"By delaying the show until June 2022, the full benefits of a completed vaccination programme will have filtered through, allowing us to deliver a safe and vibrant event."

It is indeed hoped that pandemic is a distant memory by then - the current target is for all UK adults to be vaccinated by July 31, but further restrictions may yet be necessary.

In the meantime, it would seem that Plantworx will now have to move too - it is supposed to run 14-16 June 2022, so watch this space for further announcements.
