Just a couple of months after being introduced to the Sunward brand, Global Hire purchased over 70 machines from Sunward dealer Rushall Plant Services. Both businesses are based in County Laois in the Republic of Ireland.
Global Hire's order included include 69 scissor lifts, including 23 SWSL 0607DCs, 17 SWSL 0807DCs, 13 SWSL 1412DCs, 11 SWSL 1212DCs and five SWSL 1008DCs.
The company also bought two SWTL 4538 compact tracked loaders, which have an operating capacity of 1.2 tonnes and a weight of 4.4 tonnes, and a couple of mini-excavators, including the SWE 25UF and the SWE 08B.
The new machines are being used by electricians, fabrication companies, property management, air conditioning and carpentry specialists, for tasks such as light fixture installations, pulling cables, air ducts and ceiling works, in clean room environments such as data centres and pharmaceutical premises.
Global Hire has not looked back since, with Senior Hire Manager Keith Kenna commenting: “We haven’t had any problems. Despite this, the service we are getting from the dealer is second to none. He is always on the end of the phone or email to help us out.”
Kevin Flanagan, who became a Sunward dealer in 2019 after meeting the manufacturer at the Bauma show in Germany, added: “I had previously heard of Sunward and was interested in the machines.
“I had worked in construction all over Ireland, on the new M7 motorway at the time, so my customers now are old customers from those days and new customers. Many of them are repeat customers, from people using the machines for their own personal use, to farmers, utilities and civil engineering and construction, even grave diggers! And how a hire company.
And of his record-breaking order with Global Hire, he continued: “It's great to get the deal with Global Hire. They are an up and coming company and we are hoping to do another deal in the near future.”
