GAP Group has selected CheckedOK - CoreRFID’s inspection management platform - to run its Test, Inspect and Certify (TIC) division.
GAP's TIC operation covers LOLER, PUWER and PPE inspections, as well as load testing, servicing and installations across its nearly 200 UK depots.
Before the implementation, the TIC team ran a different inspection platform alongside a manual workflow that had become unmanageable. Enquiries went into Excel, jobs were tracked through Outlook, and risk assessments, method statements and contracts were attached by hand. With 17 engineers completing 100,000 inspections a year, the calendar was doing work it was never built for.
Enquiries now go directly into CheckedOK. Jobs move from quotation through scheduling and engineer assignment without leaving the system. A digital pre-visit booking form is completed by the TIC office and read by the engineer on their tablet before departure. Inspections are completed on mobile forms built per asset type. Data uploads automatically, client sign-off is captured on completion, and it links directly to the timesheet. KPI dashboards for major accounts come from data captured in the normal workflow, with no separate compilation.
"The system we were using had reached the point where the workarounds were almost as much effort as the job itself. With the volume of inspections we carry out, that quickly turned into days of wasted time and unnecessary administration," explained National TIC Manager, Lifting Division, Paul Harrison.
