In what is likely to be a last hurrah for Speedy Chief Exec, Russell Down, the company has just posted encouraging financial results.
For the year to March 31st 2022, Speedy generated revenues of £386.8m, which compares to £332.3m in the same period in 2021 - or a 16.4% uplift. Meanwhile, pre-tax profit was £30.1m versus £8.3m last year.
"I am pleased to report results that reflect the strong performance we have achieved this year. We have continued to progress our strategic goals by taking market share, developing a first class digital customer experience, prioritising our people and leading on ESG. This performance is testament to the hard work and dedication of all my colleagues," he said.
"We have made an encouraging start to FY 2023 with volume growth and price increases more than offsetting cost pressures.”
As if to prove the fact, Speedy's revenues for the first two months of the new financial year are already 8% ahead of last year. It's no surprise to learn that the Speedy Board remains confident of achieving its FY2023 expectations.
