Eagle Plant has strengthened its excavator fleet with the arrival of its first Takeuchi 3-Series machine, taking delivery of a new fixed-boom TB3150R.
The latest addition joins a sizeable Takeuchi population already working across Eagle's 23-depot network. The company currently operates around 600 Takeuchi machines and, having first started buying the manufacturer’s equipment in 1997, has purchased some 1,800 units over the years.
That long relationship is no accident, according to Eagle Plant managing director Nick Barrow, who says: “Our customers really like them; they are regarded as both powerful and reliable. As a busy hire firm they are without doubt the best machine for our business.
The new TB3150R brings a fixed boom and short-tail configuration, giving Eagle a compact machine in the 15-tonne class, while still promising plenty of muscle for more demanding applications.
Under the bonnet is the latest Yanmar Stage V engine, complete with keyless start. Takeuchi says the new model delivers 14% more hydraulic horsepower than the previous TB2150R, improving performance when carrying out simultaneous functions and particularly during operations demanding high hydraulic pressure.
For Eagle Plant, it is another addition to a long-established Takeuchi fleet – and a sizeable vote of confidence in a supplier relationship now approaching three decades.
