Phoenix Hire & Sales (and Survey Safety & Training) was sold to the FTH Hire Group last September, its directors variously staying around during the transition before moving on. Speaking of whom, it has just been announced that former Sales Director, Jason Derraven, son of Group Chairman & FD Gary, is setting up his own business - Dragon Plant Sales Ltd.
Jason annouced announced his resignation from Phoenix back in February, tomorrow, April 30th being his very last day. After that, Dragon will be up and running from Thursday May 1st.
In terms of the equipment Dragon will be supplying, Jason says: "I will be specialising in sales of new machinery up to 100 tonne (excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers etc), used machinery and all related small plant and consumables."
A brief glance at the Companies House listing, meanwhile, specifies machinery repairs, wholesale of agricultural machinery, equipment and supplies; wholesale of mining, construction and civil engineering machinery; and the wholesale of other machinery and equipment. So pretty much a full plant machinery sales and maintenance service, then.
Undoubtedly, further details will follow in due course - we're highly interested to learn which 100 tonne machines the company will be offering, although that's probably a bit outside of our general remit. Either way, good luck to Jason in his new venture. We look forward to hearing all about it...
