Doosan Infracore Europe has launched what is apparently an industry first - a ‘transparent bucket’ for its wheel loaders.
The new device is not truly transparent, of course, but employs top and bottom cameras to provide drivers with a clear view of blind spots in front of the machine. The system captures images, which are then displayed on the cab monitor in real time.
The area in front of the machines has long been an area of concern in terms of safety, which the new system now mitigates. Another advantage is that it can improve work efficiency by providing a forward-view during loading/unloading or when carrying materials such as aggregates, sand and soil.
