Bobcat is set to turn heads at the forthcoming Executive Hire Show, as it unveils its brand-new R2-Series in the UK for the very first time. Making their debut on Stand C15, the new machines are aimed at raising expectations in the compact excavator class.

The new R2-Series comprises the E16, E17z, E19 and E20z, replacing the outgoing M-Series models. Designed with the hire market firmly in mind, the range delivers a fresh look, more advanced technology and a level of hydraulic sophistication previously reserved for much larger excavators.

At the heart of the upgrade is Bobcat’s ‘SmartFlow’ load-sensing hydraulics system, paired with a closed-centre, flow-sharing valve block and an upgraded engine. The result is true power on demand, giving operators continuously available hydraulic flow while using only the energy required. This translates into fuel savings of up to 18% and a noise reduction of 4dBA compared to the previous generation.

Just like on larger excavators, operators can now combine multiple movements at once – driving, slewing and lifting simultaneously, even when running high-demand attachments such as a flail mower at full speed.

Alongside the new R2 minis, Bobcat will also showcase the PA12.7V portable compressor, featuring FlexAir technology with a pressure range of 5.5–12.1 bar and free air delivery from 5.2–7 m³/min, underlining the breadth of Bobcat’s offering to the hire sector.

For hire professionals, this UK debut is shaping up to be one of the standout moments of EHS 2026.
