Bobcat employees across Europe, the Middle East and Africa have joined colleagues around the world to support local communities through Doosan Bobcat 'Community Days' - the company’s global volunteering initiative.
Over 650 employees participated in 20 activities across eight EMEA countries, supporting projects focused on environmental protection, biodiversity, responsible resource use and assistance for people in need.
“At Bobcat, we believe strong communities are built through action,” said Sonny Kim, vice president of HR. “Doosan Bobcat Community Days brings our employees together around a shared purpose, creating a positive impact in the places where we live and work while demonstrating our commitment to being a responsible community partner.”
Employees contributed their time, expertise and support to a wide range of projects in Czechia, France, Belgium, Germany, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland and the United Kingdom. These ranged from improving public and recreational spaces to creating wildlife habitats, sharing environmental knowledge and collecting essential items for local charities.
In Dobríš, Czechia, where Bobcat’s European manufacturing, R&D, testing and training facilities are based, more than 130 employees helped revitalise public infrastructure, sports facilities and recreational areas around the town.
Employees in Pontchâteau, France, participated in a series of environmental activities, including waste collection around the Bobcat telehandler plant and workshops covering energy efficiency, photovoltaic technology, composting, biodiversity, bees and the management of invasive Asian hornets.
In Belgium, employees created insect houses from recycled materials, maintained an organic pond and surrounding flower beds, and collected clothing, toys, books, school supplies and hygiene products for underprivileged children.
Across Germany, Bobcat teams improved green spaces at several company locations, supported a charity run and transformed used oil barrels into functional furniture to benefit local organizations. In Halle, volunteers renovated outdoor facilities at a kindergarten and created new habitats for wildlife by building a pond, planting a lavender hedge for pollinators and maintaining trees.
Elsewhere in the region, employees in South Africa collected essential items for children in need, while a team in Dubai supported local bee populations by creating water stations within their communities.
In Ireland, volunteers carried out landscaping work at a local Down’s Syndrome centre, while employees in the UK organised a donation drive supporting two local food banks.
Good job everybody!
