Yanmar engine for Powerplant generator

Filed under: Whats New — EHN Team @ 1:59 pm

A Yanmar engine supplied by UK distributor, E.P. Barrus, has been chosen to power a new ‘super-silent’ generator being developed by Powerplant (Stamford).

The model being used is a Yanmar 4TNV 98T, vertical cylinder, 4-cycle water-cooled diesel engine, with a maximum output of 63.9kW and a rated speed of 2,500rpm. The 40KVA generator, which is scheduled to be available from November, has a robust canopy with a single lifting eye, low level external fuel entry to avoid snagging on site and minimising the risk of spillage, and wide opening doors for easy service access.

With a stated noise level of 65dBA at 1m, the new machine is targeted at users in city centres, residential areas, hospitals and other locations where noise and emissions are important requirements. For more details, visit www.powerplantstamford.co.uk, and www.barrus.co.uk
