JCB has launched a range of three new compaction plates designed to reduce HAV levels while delivering powerful performance. The FP1030, FP1540 and FP1550 have 300, 400 and 500mm wide base plates respectively, with the smallest delivering a compaction force of 10kN, while the larger two models provide 15kN.
Aimed at hire companies, they are designed for the compaction of hardcore and soil. They are suitable for asphalt work when fitted with an optional water kit, which has a sprinkler bar positioned close to the base plate for optimum coverage, while a specialist paving kit tailors them for use with non-cohesive materials, such as stone paving.
JCB says the patent-pending handle design achieves HAV levels that allow up to 15 hours operation with the largest model. The handle also incorporates a throttle for comfortable operation, and its folding design facilitates transportation, with the plates fitting in vans and typical estate cars.
Each model has a Honda engine and a remote oil drain is incorporated for quick servicing. For more details visit www.jcb.com
