Event success for Power Logistics

Filed under: Latest News — EHN Team @ 9:36 am

Power Logistics, which provides temporary power for events, reports that its decision to deliver power monitoring at every project it undertook throughout 2019 has proved successful.

Implementing its systems at numerous festivals and outdoor events, it says this has resulted in fuel bills consistently being reduced by 20% or more, along with significant carbon emission savings.

QR codes are also placed on every generator, fuel tank and fuel bowser to monitor data such as location, running hours and fuel usage. This is uploaded via a server and gives clients real-time information.

A system was used at this year’s AEG’s Barclaycard presents British Summer Time festival, held in London’s Hyde Park. Power Logistics has provided project management for the event since 2014, but this year the site was fuelled solely with HVO biofuel (hydro-treated vegetable oil).

Analysing the data from the 2018 event, Power Logistics installed a smaller set in each of its generator compounds that were used during the build-up and breakdown period. This reduced fuel usage by 8,000 litres and further power monitoring delivered a 25% decrease in the amount of fuel used throughout the festival
