Flannery Plant Hire is raising money for the BBC Children in Need charity from the use of two specially branded JCB machines.
A compact telescopic handler and a mini excavator have been finished in a special spotted livery to help the hirer’s fundraising programme this year. The machines’ first task has been supporting volunteers to convert a rundown church hall.
The building, originally built in the early 1800s, has been transformed into accommodation and a support centre for Nightsafe, a charity supporting homeless young people. A television show about the project will air during the Children in Need Appeal week this November.
The two machines are also being offered for hire, with the rental charge being donated to the charity. In addition, Flannery employees are taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge later this month and the Thames Bridge Trek in October, and have several bake sales planned to help reach a target of £20,000.
