JCB starts dumper production

Filed under: Latest News — EHN Team @ 3:18 pm

Manufacture of JCB’s new range of site dumpers has officially started, with the first machines rolling off the company’s production line at its World HQ in Rocester.

Two years ago, the company added site dumpers to its portfolio by sourcing badge-engineered machines, with capacities from one to ten tonnes, from Terex in Coventry. After Terex’s compact construction business was bought by the French company, Mecalac, JCB decided to design and produce its own range. The move will create 70 new jobs in the next 12 months.

The range includes nine models with capacities from one to nine tonnes. JCB Site Dumper MD Richard Butler said, “Reaction to the launch has been exceptional and customers can look forward to seeing the seven and three tonne models on the JCB stand at the Executive Hire Show in February.”

The line-up includes the seven tonne payload 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz model, designed to address concerns over accidents involving site dumpers on construction sites. This machine is one of ten, from various exhibitors, selected for the Innovation Trail – Live initiative being introduced at this year’s Show, highlighting cutting-edge new products in special ‘live’ presentations.
