GAP is taking delivery 20 Isuzu rigid trucks for its transport fleet, bringing to 41 the total number of the manufacture’s vehicles that the Glasgow-based tool and plant hirer company operates in its 374-strong transport fleet.
The order consists of ten Isuzu Grafter 3.5 tonne twin rear-wheeled rigid vehicles and 10 Isuzu Forward N75.190 7.5 tonners. The former are fitted with dropside bodies and rear tail lifts, while the Forward rigid trucks have a mix of either flat bed bodies with cranes, or beaver tail bodies with a winch and electro-hydraulic ramp at the rear.
GAP’s Transport Manager, Bobby Allan, says that “The Grafters are ideal for towing our 3.5 tonne plant trailers without any adverse effect on the vehicle’s performance, whilst at 7.5 tonnes the Isuzu Forwards give us the payload that we require for certain delivery applications.”
