Hilti, which is amongst the manufacturers that have developed power tools addressing environmental issues such as dust and noise, is showing similar awareness with an investment of over £1m in its company car fleet, including an order for 42 new ECOnetic Ford Mondeos.

The ECOnetic engine is designed for low emissions, with a quoted CO2 rating of 114g/km, and for reduced noise levels. Hilti has also specified the vehicles with reverse parking sensors and has pre-ordered winter tyres for them in case of a repeat of last year’s severe winter weather.
