The Netherlands-based hirer Boels Rental has invested in a fleet of 225 micro, mini and midi JCB excavators. It is the largest order Boels has ever placed with the British manufacturer. The machines comprise one hundred 8008 micro units, with the remainder comprising 8018, 8025, 8035, 8050 and 8085 models.

The Boels business, which has its headquarters in the Maastricht region, has a hire fleet that is valued at more than €200m. It has over 215 branch offices and operates from more than 1,200 outlets in hardware stores in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Pierre Boels was also named as Rental Person of the Year in the European Rental Awards, held this week in Amsterdam.
