Dromad Hire of Dundalk, which jointly won the 2011 Passionate Hirer Award in the Large Hire ‘Super Centre’ category, has just taken delivery of the first two machines in an order for eight new Yanmar mini excavators. Pictured with the units is Ronan Cotter, General Manager of Dromad, which also operates Fitness4Hire.com, offering exercise equipment.
MD Seamus Byrne told EHN, “The new machines range from 0.8 to 3 tonne and will bring the total number of minis in our fleet to 20, all of them Yanmars, up to 8 tonne. We have found them to perform well and to be very reliable, and we get excellent backup from our local dealer, Crumlin Plant Sales.
“The purchase is in response to increased demand from builders and smaller contractors for equipment like this. Homeowners are finding it difficult to obtain mortgages and cannot move house, so they are extending and improving their properties with extensions, patios and garden decking. Many houses do not have side access, so machines have to be taken in by the front door and through the hall to reach the garden.
“The new machines are all 2011 models, and we were able to see them on the Ammann Equipment stand when we visited the Executive Hire Show.”
Dromad Hire also recently purchased a second Hinowa 23.12 tracked telescopic boom from Access Platform Sales.
