Honda Europe is to introduce an updated range of Mid-GX engines, comprising re-designed versions of the GX120, GX160 and GX200 series. They will be replacing the existing power units between the end of 2011 and early 2012, and are designed to produce lower emissions and to improve noise and vibration levels.
The engines have the same dimensions as their predecessors, so that original equipment manufacturers need not modify their product designs. Last year, Honda re-designed the GX models in the GX240, GX270, GX340 and GX390 series.
Honda says its current benchmark is the US EPA Phase 3 exhaust and evaporative emission standards. As well as engine emissions, these impose parameters for the evaporation of petrol through the tank and fuel lines.
