Alloa Hire Centre has increased its Volvo mini excavator fleet to four machines, having taken delivery of a new Volvo EC18C. The 1.8 tonne unit has a 16.8hp engine and incorporates an extendable undercarriage and two-speed travel as standard. It is from a range of models between 1.5 and 2.0 tonne that were launched in the UK last autumn, and which were reviewed in the November/December issue of EHN.

The hirer added compact plant to its offering four years ago when it moved to new premises with more space on the outskirts of Alloa. Director John MacPherson says the Volvo machines have proved very reliable and popular with customers.

Alloa Hire Centre also operates a successful on-line sales operation, which trades as AHC Tools and supplies equipment worldwide.
