Speedy is supporting a charity which assists local communities in Africa to deliver essential, low-cost community buildings. It is donating a range of equipment to Build IT International, including power tools, concrete mixers, PPE, access towers and a mini excavator. The initiative is designed to improve trainees’ skills base and give them a better chance of finding work.
The donated items will arrive in Zambia by March 2011, in time to be allocated to six projects that Build IT International has lined up for the coming year. Steve Corcoran, Chief Executive of Speedy said: “We are very pleased to be associated with Build IT International and the fantastic work that they are doing. Even during tough times, it is important to continue supporting those less fortunate than ourselves.”
