J Matthews Plant adds VT1s

Filed under: Latest News — EHN Team @ 3:19 pm

Essex-based J Matthews Plant Hire (JMP) has recently added VT1 SuperLight mobile lighting towers to its equipment fleet, supplied by TowerLight UK. JMP’s Steve Piotrowski said that the main reasons the company decided to buy the machines were their popularity amongst the construction industry, and their ease of use. “Experienced site workers are familiar with the operation and controls of the VT1, and they are comfortable with having the machine on their sites. In our opinion it has become the industry standard in towable, portable lighting sets.”

The VT1’s 9m 360° vertical hydraulic mast incorporates single-lever operation, enabling one person to safely erect it in less than 30 seconds. With its relatively small overall footprint, up to 40 sets can be delivered on a single 40ft flat bed vehicle, and forklift pockets are mounted on the frame for safe loading.

JMP supplies a wide range of contractors’ and light plant to the construction and civil engineering industries from its base near Chelmsford. It has been established for over 40 years.
