Harrington Generators International (HGI) says that its plans for future products include developing machines that will enable users to be more environmentally responsible, in terms of engine emissions, noise levels and fuel consumption.
The Derbyshire-based manufacturer tells EHN that it aims to produce appropriate generators that are cost-effective and environmentally friendly to run, and which may also harness wind and solar power in tandem with conventional fuels.
HGI also points out that recent legislation aims to make all new buildings carbon neutral by 2016, and that temporary portable structures will be expected to have their carbon footprints reduced to meet an anticipated 15% reduction over the next two years. HGI says it is currently working with site cabin manufacturers to help achieve this.
