Diamond blades, trailer checks, electricity and the environment are the four latest topics to be added to GAP’s Split Second Safety campaign, which highlights key Health & Safety issues relevant to people working in construction and related industries.
Created in-house, the initiative includes posters with eye-catching designs and slogans to highlight the dangers to personnel on site. Corresponding toolbox talks are also used to train and educate both GAP employees and customers on the risks, and all of the Glasgow-based hirer’s managers are trained to present them.
Malcolm Campbell, GAP’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, commented, “Since we launched the Split Second Safety Campaign back in 2007 it has been well received by both our customers and our employees and has helped reduce our incident rates. Our objective is to continually improve in what we do, and Split Second Safety is part of raising the standards across our activities.”
