Seddons turns up the power

Recognising growing demand for portable generators to provide power when people are on camping and caravanning holidays, or for emergency backup in the home or office, Seddons (Plant & Engineers) has expanded its range of quiet, smooth-running, yet more powerful machines.
Five new lightweight portable models from SDMO and Pramac have been introduced alongside the Honda EU10i and EU20i leisure generator range. The newcomers, which include SDMO’s Ineo 1000 and 2000, and Booster 1000 and 2000 machines, and Pramac’s P1000 inverter generator, will be joined soon by Honda’s newest EU30i model, offering increased power output, but maintaining portability, ease of use and noise efficiency, with integral handles and sound-reducing casings. Honda machines benefit from an Eco-Throttle, which further extends fuel economy by allowing the generators to idle, speeding up only when there is a demand for more power.

New Harrington compact diesel sets

Harrington Generators International (HGI) has developed a range of compact diesel sets complying with the latest EU noise regulations. The SKD line-up includes 2.6, 6 and 10kVA sets, available with dual voltage output, and there are variants to suit rail applications, TIN12 welding and CTE work. Machines can be supplied with wheels and various socket options.
The 6kVA model also comes in a special Mobile Cabin version, designed for operation inside a road towable welfare cabin, where weight and size are important. HGI says it has designed the generator with a very small footprint, and for ease of servicing. It has also developed a 5m lighting tower that can be fitted to the 6kVA SKD generator.

In control with Doosan

The Ingersoll Rand PowerSource range from Doosan Infracore Portable Power comprises 12 mobile generator models with prime power outputs at rated speed from 10-500kVA. They are equipped with Stage 2 emission compliant engines, and high-capacity fuel tanks give at least 24 hours’ operation. All control functions are grouped together on a simple control panel, and system faults are indicated on an LED diagnostic display.
The machine enclosures have sound-reducing insulation.

Ten from JCB

JCB offers ten diesel-powered generators for the hire industry, across ten power nodes, from 20-250kVA at 50Hz. The three smallest (20-40kVA) are powered by Yanmar engines, while JCB’s Dieselmax engine is the platform for the most common mid-range generators (60-100kVA). Iveco and Scania power units are fitted to larger models.
Machines feature four-pole circuit breakers, earth leakage protection and auxiliary socket boxes. Other standard fixtures include single point lift, fork pockets and fully bunded fuel tanks. Remote monitoring is available via GSM technology, and all generators can be trailer mounted.

Environment-friendly ArcGen Hilta

ArcGen Hilta’s range of environmentally friendly equipment includes the Weldmaker 400SSD and 500SSD welders, which have 45-litre fuel tanks and offer more than nine hours’ operation at 400A. Also available is the 400CC/CV, which gives more than ten hours’ running time with outputs of 60-400A. The Weldmaker 165SP2 model can also provide auxiliary power and incorporates an auto-idle device for fuel economy.
The company’s generator line-up includes two DCA Ultra Silent machines, with 25kVA and 45kVA outputs, which have noise levels of only 50dbA at 7m. They are particularly suitable for use in built-up areas, or for tasks being undertaken close to hospitals, care homes or other noise sensitive locations.
