Growth for Cautrac
Cautrac, which has branches in Colchester and Bolton, reports on-going growth in sales of its TrackBarrows to hire companies. The compact self-propelled machines can climb steep angles at a controlled speed without damaging soft ground. Models are available with lift capacities of 350 and 400kg, the larger machine having a hydraulic tipping facility.
The company also offers pre-owned equipment at both its northern and southern locations and, Managing Director John Hillman says there is typically a choice of more than 200 micro and mini excavators for inspection and sale at any one time. “Our parts department carries replacement parts for most Japanese excavators and tracked carriers, as well as replacement tracks.”

Muck-truck goes electric
Until now, Muck-truck’s compact pedestrian dumper has always been powered by a commercial petrol engine, but an additional model running on a bank of 24V rechargeable batteries is now available. It provides a running time of up to 3.5 hours, carrying 0.25-tonne loads up and down 30° slopes, with quiet operation.
The product still features a skip that can be removed quickly to provide a useful flat bed transporter capable of carrying up to 120 bricks. This also accommodates awkward heavy loads such as bags of cement, rolls of turf or slabs. The electric Muck-truck has two-wheel drive with forward and reverse gears.

High-tipping TCP
Taylor Construction Plant’s (TCP) Hi-T500 tracked dumper is suitable for transporting material around sites and is narrow enough to fit through a standard doorway. Hydraulic lift enables the bucket to tip straight into a skip without the need for ramps or scaffold boards. Also available is the Hi-C40 compact crusher, which also fits though a standard doorway and has a 60 tonne crushing force with 20-70 mm output size. This gives a cost saving against skip hire, transport costs, landfill tax and generates hardcore for the creation of sub-bases.

Well balanced Rochford machines
Manufactured in the USA and now distributed in the UK by Rochford GM, DR pedestrian Power Wagons feature electric start, four forward and one reverse gear and fingertip speed control. The weight of the machines is balanced over the drive wheels for traction and stability.
The PW55 model is powered by a Briggs & Stratton 5.5hp engine and has a carrying capacity of 225kg. The hopper is manufactured from high-density polyethylene. The PW675 features pine hopper sides with a plywood floor, and can carry 360kg, with power coming from a Briggs & Stratton Intek OHV 6.75hp engine. A centrifugal clutch on the larger machine provides gradual acceleration for maximum control, and the entire cargo bed tilts forward on both models for easy emptying.
