Terex eases the pressure

Terex’s range of compact track loaders comprises three models from 30-80hp, which are claimed to exert one-tenth the ground pressure of a skid-steer loader. The PT-30, PT-60 and PT-80 are purpose-built with tracks, rather than having evolved from skid steers. The geometry and distribution of machine weight are designed to give better balance, ground clearance, flotation and traction.

The machines have a specially designed undercarriage suspension system, incorporating a large number of contact wheels to spread weight over the entire length and width of the rubber tracks. This further increases traction, promotes longer machine and track life and enhances operator comfort.

Celebrate with Bobcat’s options

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Bobcat is offering customers who purchase any skid steer or compact tracked loader model by the end of November, up to five extra options at no extra cost. These include a heated cab or a cab with air conditioning, and the Power Bob-Tach mounting system for changing attachments quickly.

Also offered is a Deluxe Instrumentation option, which lets the operator closely monitor the machine and incorporates a keyless start security system. It also allows for multiple password protection for multiple operators, a digital diagnostics display and seven language choices. The high-flow hydraulics option is designed to maximise the performance of attachments such as planers, wheel saws, brushwood cutters and wood chippers.

Auger Torque trenching disc

Auger Torque Europe has introduced the HDT250 disc cutter attachment, which is designed to produce trenches from 50-95mm wide at a depth of 250mm. It can be fitted to a variety of prime movers such as mini excavators or compact skid steer loaders capable of providing a hydraulic flow of between 38-78 litres/minute at a pressure of 110 bar. It is suitable for installing underground cables or for applications requiring a shallow, narrow trench that is easy to backfill.

Digbits impresses Sheffield hirer

A Sheffield-based hirer, called Hire It-Crush It-Recycle It, has added a Digbits Bavtrak 025 mobile tracked crusher to its fleet. “We all need to embrace the green future of the construction industry, especially when it saves us money, and I spotted a gap in the hire market for machines that could reduce landfill,” says Director Peter Denton.

“When I tested the machine and saw it go through limestone, rock and bricks with ease, I was blown away! I recently had a demonstration model from a different company, but it struggled and took a laborious eight hours to crush just 10 tonnes. The Bavtrak crushed a monstrous 48 tonnes in the same time.”

Sandhurst’s slimline hammers

Sandhurst Equipment Sales’ slimline XT series hydraulic hammers have only two internal moving parts for reliability and greater hammer productivity. They can be fitted to mini excavators of 1 tonne upwards, and their fully enclosed design minimises airborne noise.

The hammers operate on the principle of creating percussive energy by the compression of nitrogen gas, which is said to enhance efficiency. Typical applications include road construction, smaller trenching and demolition tasks, building renovation and landscaping.
