Bosch targets dust and vibration

Bosch’s power tool line-up includes drills and breakers designed for low vibration without compromising performance. The updated GBH 4-32DFR Professional is rated at 8m/s2 when drilling and at 7m/s2 for breaking, measured according to the EN 60745 standard. It has an integral vibration control mechanism and floating rear handles, features that are also incorporated on the GSH 16-28 Professional breaker, rated at 10m/s2.

Addressing the issue of workplace dust, the recently launched GBH 2-23REA Professional SDS hammer drill has a removable micro-filter system, together with a transparent dust collection chute at the point of drilling. Husqvarna launches electric Cut-n-Break

The 110V electric K3000 Cut-n-Break from Husqvarna, scheduled for launch this month, incorporates a low-consumption water system to suppress dust without causing excessive slurry. The twin-bladed machine enables cutting in stages through walls up to 400mm thick. Each cut can be up to 65mm deep, forming a core that is removed using the breaking tool supplied. The user continues the operation until the required depth is reached.

The machine can be used to create window openings and for cutting close to walls and floors, facilitated by the ability to move the front splashguard sideways. The flexible upper blade guard has rollers at the tip to prevent snagging when working with brick, and this also helps to guide the cover smoothly over joints.

Square deal from LFA

Drill chuck suppler LFA (UK) has launched the portable SHM square hole morticer attachment. The drive end attaches to an SDS power tool, which is then used on full hammer action to drive an integral auger and produce square holes in timber, including hard wood such as teak and oak.
The 5/8in chisel size is suitable for UK mortice locks, and the company says that a typical slot can be cut in approximately three minutes with the door in situ. Larger holes can be made by overlapping the chisel. The tool can also be used for tasks associated with timber framing, work on exposed beams, garden furniture and ornamental work.
