Cutting
Cutting-edge
quality
By
continuing
to
expand
its
cutting
equipment
range,
Husqvarna
Construction
Products
is
offering
a
wider
choice
of
solutions
for
hirers.
The
most
fundamental
element
of
any
cutting
process
is
the
blade
or
drill
bit
used,
and
at
SED
Husqvarna
promoted
its
new
Diagrip
diamond
segment
manufacturing
technology,
designed
to
give
enhanced
performance.
The
process
has
been
developed
to
ensure
that
the
diamond
content
is
distributed
in
an
optimum
configuration
within
the
segment,
to
give
better
results
in
terms
of
wear
and
cutting
speed,
even
when
working
with
reinforced
concrete.
The
company
points
out
that
all
its
diamond
blade
factories
worldwide
have
OSA
(Organisation
for
the
Safety
of
Abrasives)
accreditation,
which
sets
standards
of
quality
and
safety.
Also
new,
the
WS
440
HF
electric
wall
saw
weighs
only
25kg
but
delivers
13kW
to
the
shaft.
Variable
speed
transmission
allows
the
appropriate
cutting
rate
to
be
set
for
different
materials.
A
dedicated
power
pack,
the
PP
440
HF,
has
been
developed
for
the
machine.
Weighing
18kg,
it
is
highly
portable
and
features
a
remote
controlled
electric
water
valve.
The
remote
control
can
also
provide
information
on
power
level,
operating
time
and
service
intervals.
The
SED
line-up
included
the
K3000
Cut-n-Break,
a
110V
electric
version
of
the
innovative
machine
designed
as
a
cost-effective
alternative
to
a
stone
chainsaw,
which
can
cut
to
depths
of
up
to
400mm.
Producing
low
HAV
levels,
it
incorporates
Elgard
protection
that
alters
rotation
speed
if
overloading
is
imminent.
The
tool
is
being
launched
in
July
and
Husqvarna
says
it
is
suitable
for
use
indoors,
as
it
produces
no
fumes.
Available
next
month
will
be
the
new
K3000
Electric/Spray
cutter,
which
can
accept
a
350mm
blade
and
cuts
to
depths
of
125mm.
Its
special
feature
is
the
ability
to
be
used
with
a
spray
system
that
directs
water
precisely
on
to
the
blade.
The
high-pressure
water
forms
a
mist
under
the
blade
guard,
without
creating
unnecessary
spillage
or
excessive
slurry.
The
machine
can
also
be
fitted
with
a
new
DEX
Dust
Extinguisher
System
for
dust
control.
Also
displayed
at
SED,
and
available
in
the
second
half
of
2008,
was
the
DM
330
drill
motor
for
use
on
all
Husqvarnas
larger
drill
stands,
with
50-350mm
drill
bits.
Offered
in
high
and
low
speed
versions,
it
has
three
gear
stages
and
the
gearbox
is
water
cooled
for
longer
life.
A
water
system
can
be
connected
to
the
left
or
right
hand
side,
and
a
standard
feature
is
Softstart,
which
ensures
full
power
is
only
reached
two
seconds
after
switching
on.
Also
incorporated
is
Smartstart,
which
halves
the
speed
for
making
starter
holes
or
cutting
through
reinforcements.
The
Elgard
system
is
also
included.
The
new
DMS
240
is
a
complete
core
drilling
system
for
many
applications,
and
is
the
most
powerful
in
the
Husqvarna
drill
motor
stand
range.
The
stand
tilts
through
45¾
and
maximum
drilling
diameter
is
250mm.
A
carrying
handle
is
incorporated
and
a
wheeled
base
can
be
fitted
for
manoeuvrability.
Husqvarna
also
showed
the
DS
450
ATS,
the
largest
machine
in
its
drill
stand
range,
and
which
is
also
scheduled
for
launch
later
this
year.
Maximum
drilling
capacity
is
450mm
diameter
and
the
base
plate
is
designed
for
optimum
stability.
The
machine
has
a
two-speed
carriage
and
plastic
strips
are
incorporated
to
protect
the
aluminium
column.
Accessories
available
include
wheels,
a
combined
vacuum
and
anchor
base
plate,
a
water
collector
and
a
quick
connection
system,
and
it
again
shows
how
Husqvarna
aims
to
offer
equipment
with
options
enabling
hirers
and
end
users
to
meet
specific
applications.
